The college was established in the year 1975 as an extension of Gauri Pathshala Inter College (established 1905). The primary aim of the establishment of this college in the thick locality of Malviya Nagar(Ahiyapur). The birth place of Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tondon. Pt. Madam Mohan Malviya¸ Pt. Bal Krishna Bhatt was to cater to the educational needs of the girls of the area. It was the dream of Rajarshi Tandon to provide undergraduate education to the girls so it was difficult for them to reach out to the university. In 1975 with the efforts of Late Shri Hemvati Nandan Bahugura and Late Smt Rani Tondon the college was established with the subjects Hindi¸ Sanskrit¸ Education¸ Music Instrumental and Vocal¸ Politics science¸ Economics¸ Ancient History¸ English¸ Sociology and Philosophy. The college received grant in aid in 1984 in the efforts of Late Chaudhary Naunihal Singh¸ Shri Sumit Vya----- Late Kamla Prasad Mohilanj¸ Kunnan Guruji and Late Ashok Kumar Tandon. The college attained the central status and become a constituent college of the University of Allahabad in 2005. The college received B grade by NAAC in the year 2004. ""
