Praveenya Institute of Marine Engineering & Maritime Studies (PRIME) was established in the year 2006 by a group of academicians and professional engineers on a sprawling area of 12.07 Acres¸ It is located on the outskirts of the port city¸ the famous City of Destiny¸ Visakhapatnam.

Visakhapatnam¸ the City of Destiny¸ located on the East Coast of India on the waters of Bay of Bengal is one of the fastest developing cities in the world with many major industries and PSUs in and around the city. The city is proud possessor of one of the busiest ports in India¸ Hindustan Shipyard Limited¸ the Head Quarters of Eastern Naval Command¸ Dredging Corporation of India and Visakha Steel Plant to name a few.
