Recognizing the importance of e-governance as a strategic tool for transforming the very process of governance¸ the Govt. of India initiated its e-governance plans with a view to provide more efficient and transparent quality of services to the people. This initiative has been successful in reducing the time and cost of delivery of services¸ enhancing accessibility and reducing corruption. At this point of time when computer based applications have taken over practically all facets of operations¸ be that in the government or private sector¸ the Ministry of Tourism has developed this portal - TOURISM & HOSPITALITY INSTITUTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (THIMS) - in collaboration with the NIC to leverage the full potential of I.T. & I.C.T. in its as well as NCHMCT & IITTM?s decision making process and to also enable all Ministry of Tourism sponsored Institutes to conduct their day-to-day operations through this System as it offers real-time data management and information retrieval through a common platform.
