DESCRIPTION :

The Institute was set up in August 1963¸ with three disciplines namely Civil¸ Mechanical and Electrical with 40 seats in each disciplines. Prior to this period this Institution was known as 'Escola de Industrial e Commercial' under the Portuguese rule and certificate courses were conducted in different vocations.

After the Liberation of Goa the Institute of 'Escola de Industrial e Commercial' was upgraded to the Polytechnic status. It was shifted to the spacious campus at the picturesque Altinho hill in 1968. Initially it was affiliated to the Board of Technical Examinations¸ Maharashtra state. Since 1988 it is under the Board of Technical Education¸ Goa.
