Higher Education can empower us for accepting and carrying out greater responsibilities. A college is the seat of higher education. Canacona was conspicuous on the Goan map by the absence of a college till 1993. But the Kanconcars had proved their worth in cultural¸ social¸ economic and educational field by venturing out of Canacona to prove their merit. But this migration for betterment was limited to few. Of the many individuals who became well established in other parts of Goa¸ some felt their umbilical cord was still attached to their birthplace. The desire to fulfill the moral obligation of serving their birthplace led to the establishment of ?Dnyan Prabodhini Mandal? to provide the opportunity of higher education to students from Canacona.
