Attainment of optimum health is the desire of every individual. The achievement of a Country in preventing diseases and promoting health depends on the contribution of all members of the health team in general and nurses in particular who incidentally form a major group. The nurses have major role to play for development of the country.

In India there is only one nurse for 3 doctors whereas the ratio exactly should be reverse. Moreover there is only one nurse for 6500 persons. Thus the need for qualified nurses in our country in general and Chhattisgarh in particular needs no emphasis. Thus to fulfill the need of the State and Country¸ the Maitri Educational Society was established in the year 2004 in the Chhattisgarh State. The Society has been formed with an arrowed object to establish¸ maintain and promote the advancement education in all areas of science in general and nursing training centre in particular.

With the above principles¸ the society had started Maitri College of Nursing in the year 2004 with the ultimate motive to function as a full fledged academic setup of repute¸ providing quality education to the aspiring professionals in the field of Nursing. The college is situated 8 kms away from Durg Railway station in a serene and congenial ambience best suited for academic pursuit.

The College is recognized by Indian Nursing Council¸ New Delhi and is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University¸ Raipur.
