The Nursing profession is one of the noblest professions nourishes¸ cherishes¸ protects and supports the patient during hospitalization and thereby provide¸ significant service to the society. During World War-II¸ Florence Nightingale emphasized the grooming of nurses for the management of sick¸ prevention of diseases and consequently promotion of health in a given community.

The Nursing a therefore both¸ Science and art¸ that requires a sound scientific education. Besides this¸ Nursing is a service to humanity¸ devoted as it helps curing patients by applying scientific knowledge and skill during their studies. A professional nurse is a graduate of a recognized Nursing College who has registered with State Nursing council¸ which is a licence to practice.
