DESCRIPTION :

The K.M.Shah Dental College had a humble beginning in 1999 on 16th December. It was started with an intake capacity of 40 students. In 2003 it achieved recognition with 100 seats. It was the first private Dental College in the State of Gujarat. 

In those days students from Gujarat used to go south for dental education. The vision of Dr. Mansukhbhai Shah changed the scenario and gave the students of Gujarat a much needed opportunity to learn the art and science of Dentistry at close quarters. The spirit of Mansukh Sir did not rest on its initial accolades. The vision led him to establish a medical college soon after. Living on hand-to-mouth but with single minded focus on future goals he went ahead to convert the baby dental college into a Post-Graduate institution in 2003. Bearing the bureaucratic and monetary storms and hurdles he gave the State of Gujarat its first private post-graduate institute in Dentistry.

By now he had formed a habit of being the first among giants and in 2007¸ the first private deemed University came into existence¸ under the name of ?SUMANDEEP UNIVERSITY?¸ a word coined with a jumble of letters from the names of the family members.

Today the Sumandeep family consist of a postgraduate Dental institute¸ a post graduate Medical institute¸ Physiotherapy¸ Pharmacy and Nursing institute and the developing Health Care Management institute. 

All institutes boast of state-of-the-art equipments¸ sprawling campus¸ modern teaching¸ strict discipline and promotes overall student development through cultural¸ sports and academic activity.

The K.M.Shah Dental College is the first college in the country to start an under-graduate program and a subject of Evidence Based Dentistry. Research focus¸ EBD and problem based learning are going to be the future corner stones of our education making our institute globally competent. The vision of the Chancellor Shri Mansukhbhai¸ the administrative leadership of his son Dr. Dixit Shah and the drive of the Principal¸ KMSDCH and the Dean¸ SVU¸ is the focus for the immediate future.
