Government of Madhya Pradesh by an ACT No. 2 of 2016 has set up Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences¸ published in Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extraordinary) on 13th January 2016. Dr. B R Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS) is the first university of social sciences in the country. The University is a unique model of integration of social sciences perspectives and approaches with scientific and technological advancement for socio-economic development and educational excellence of scheduled castes¸ scheduled tribes and other backward classes. The University aims at accelerating socio-economic development and educational excellence among marginalized sections for their upliftment and empowerment; and confluence of new technologies and latest modules of social sciences with ideology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for alleviation and eradication of social evils¸ social disparities & injustice and establishment of egalitarian society.
