A Centre of Relevance and Excellence (CORE) has been set up at Thapar University by TIFAC Mission REACH of Department of Science & Technology¸ Govt. of India in its first phase of setting up eight CORES at various Institutes and Universities spread all over the country. 

Science and Technology Entrepreneur?s Park (STEP) has been established jointly by Thapar University and DST¸ Govt. of India.

Thapar University has impressively grown in size and activities during the last five decades of its existence.
