Gobindgarh College of Education¸ (Alour)¸ Tehsil - Khanna Distt-Ludhiana¸ is one of the fourth institutes being run by Gobindgarh Educational & Social Welfare Trust¸ Mandi Gobindgarh. This Trust is represented by educationalists¸ industrialists¸ administrators¸ Philianthropists¸ Entrepreneurs and Engineers who are men of missionary zeal and devoted humanitarians. These multi-faceted personalities strive for 'Excellence through effort' to pay back to society in general and to serve the people of the Steel-Town and its surrounding areas in particular¸ since 1 977. In 2003 the Trust approached the Panjab State Govt. and Panjab University¸ Chandigarh with a proposal to start a College of Education to render enviable service in the field of education. After getting N.O.C. and recommendation of the Panjab University¸ Chandigarh¸ the Trust approached National Council for Teacher's Education¸ Jaipur for the approval. It was approved by N.C.T.E. vide its order No. F.NRC/NCTE/F-3/Pb- 208/ 1998 dated 26 May¸ 2005 and has been affiliated to Panjab University¸ Chandigarh.
