DESCRIPTION :

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University was established to commemorate the historic event of 400 Anniversary of the compilation and first installation of Sri Adi (Guru) Granth Sahib in the year 2004. Thanks to the inspiring vision of Hon'ble Sardar Parkash Singh Badal and dynamic leadership of Sardar Sukhbir Singh Badal¸ the dream of entire Sikh Community was realized in the form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University. The University is privileged to have very sagacious Sardar Gobind Singh Longowal¸ President¸ SGPC as the Chancellor. Under his inspiring guidance¸ the University will keep on growing at a steady pace¸ and will carve a prominent place for itself in the domain of higher education in the coming years.

The University has a huge campus (136.75 acres)¸ state-of-the-art infrastructure¸ highly qualified faculty¸ congenial and intellectually stimulating academic environment.
The University is running twenty eight departments under ten faculties¸ focusing on intensive study/research/teaching in the areas of World Religions¸ Cultures¸ Eastern and Western thought systems and other courses under the heads of Basic and Applied Sciences¸ Engineering Sciences¸ Commerce and Management¸ Arts and Humanities¸ Social Sciences¸ Performing Arts and Law.
