DESCRIPTION :

Raj Rishi College¸ ALWAR (Rajasthan) was established in 1930 by the then Ruler of ALWAR ? Raj Rishi Maharaja Jay Singh as an Intermediate College to impart Higher Education. The college was upgraded to a graduate college having the faculties in Arts and Commerce in 1945. In 1947 post -graduate classes in Economics and History were started along with graduate classes in Science and Law. The post ? graduate classes in Science commenced from the year 1968. In 1979 the college was bifurcated and a new college named as Babu Shobharam Govt. Arts College with Arts and Law faculties was established. Raj Rishi College is a Government run Post Graduate College with Science and Commerce faculties having P.G. classes in Eight Subjects; Accountancy and Business Statistics¸ Business Administration¸ Economic administration and Financial Management¸ Botany¸ Chemistry¸ Mathematics¸ Physics and Zoology with Research facilities and graduate classes in Science and Commerce and Honors classes in Chemistry and Mathematics. B.Sc. Biotechnology Raj Rishi College is one of the prestigious colleges of Rajasthan and the biggest Science and Commerce College in the district. It is affiliated to the University of Rajasthan¸ Jaipur and is recognized by University Grants Commission under Section 2f.

The college runs in Vinay Vilas Palace¸ a palatial building standing in the middle of the college campus of about 250 acres. There are 105 highly qualified members of Teaching Staff. This college has produced Member of Parliament¸ Members of Legislative Assembly¸ I.A.S.¸ I.P.S.¸ R.A.S.¸ R.P.S.¸ Professors and many other officers. The college runs Study Centers of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU). IGNOU Study Centre was established in 1990 and was declared the best centre of Rajasthan in 2002. Twenty Five Programs are activated at this Study Centre. Our Student Ms. Garvita Bhatia of DTS¸ Diploma of Tourism Studies¸ secured the highest marks in 2001 and was awarded Gold Medal by the then Minister of Human Resource Development¸ Dr Murli Manohar Joshi on Feb.21¸ 2002.
