International Maritime Academy (IMA) is a section 25 registered private ltd comapany to run the maritime courses & established on the year 1999 in the chennai city. The IMA is Approved by the Directorate General of shipping (DGS)¸ Ministry of shipping¸ Government of India vide their letter No: 3-TR(48/99) on Dec 1999. For its approved Maritime Courses for the issuance of Continues Discharge Certificate (CDC) wherever required.

In order to provide the technical education in the field of Merchant Navy¸ IMA was established. The courses being conducted at IMA is highly job oriented in the worldwide shipping companies. The young boys are motivated properly & trained in a disciplined manner to work with various national in the International shipping companies.

The Academy has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification   by Indian Register Quality Systems.
