DESCRIPTION :

K.M.Mission Medical & Educational Trust¸ Madurai started the K.M.College of Pharmacy in the year¸ 1981 with foresight to provide pharmacy education in the backward districts and develop an institution of excellence in Pharmacy. The Diploma in Pharmacy course was started in 1981 with the permission of the Govt. of Tamilnadu and Pharmacy Council of India.

Within 4 years the management was able to start B.Pharmacy Course. The institution is located within a short distance from the main road and the same time¸ faraway from the dust and din of the urban city making it conductive for academic pursuits.

In 1985¸ the B.Pharm¸ degree course was affiliated to the Madurai Kamaraj University¸ Madurai. Subsequently¸ it came under The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. In the year 1990 M.Pharm Degree course was started with the branches of Pharmaceutics¸ Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. The College has been permitted to admit six students in each branch. Subsequently in 1997¸ two more branches namely¸ Pharmacology and Pharmacy Practice were added with an increased intake of students for each branch.
