DESCRIPTION :

Vinayaka Mission?s College of Nursing (VMCON)¸ Puducherry was established in the year 2002 under the dynamic leadership of Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram. It was affiliated to the Pondicherry University till 2004 during which time it was brought under the Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation Deemed University¸ Salem. The institution is recognized by the Indian Nursing Council and the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. VMCON¸ Puducherry conducts M.Sc. (N)¸ B.Sc. (N)¸ P.B.B.Sc. (N) under Vinayaka Missions University and DGNM¸ DMPHW [F] and DHI under the Board of Examinations¸ Puducherry.

The institution has a total built up area of 68000 sq. ft in the Academic Block and 64000 sq. ft in the students residence area. The college has been provided with the requisite infrastructure with adequate audio-visual aids. It also has well-equipped laboratories for anatomy¸ physiology¸ microbiology¸ bio-chemistry¸ nutrition¸ fundamentals¸ computers¸ community¸ maternity and child health. The library is a storehouse of 2618 books including all the important books and journals of the latest edition of various authors at the national and international level. We update the library with a large number of new arrivals every year. About 350 copies of various specialty books were added to the library during the last academic year. The college has an excellent and dedicated teaching faculty team. Separate accommodation is maintained for both boys and girls with adequate facilities for study¸ dining¸ recreation¸ etc.
