The college is affiliated to the University of Mysore and it is a co-education institution. The college caters to the needs of both urban and rural students. The founder of the institution His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji was a visionary and Tapaswi. At present the college is under the guidance and insipiration of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji¸ a rare seer of liberal humanism¸ progressive ideas and social enterprener. The college is an independent First Grade College for Arts and Commerce. The strength of the college was 428 during 2001-2002¸ 602 students during 2002-2003 & 591 students during the current academic year of 2003-04. The college has dedicated and well qualified 21 teaching and 14 non-teaching staff. The college has an enviable acdemic record. Many alumni of the college occupy very high positions in the society.
