Nursing profession play an important role in the health care delivery system. There is acute shortage of qualified nurses in the country for nursing services. Further¸ there is need to further strengthen the roles of nurses and hence to start relevant educational programme was acute.
The GNM programme was started by upgrading the Rajiv Gandhi School of Nursing which began in the year 1998¸ sponsored by Nimishamba Educational Society this was none in effort to uplift status and standard of nursing profession as recommended by the INC.

Nursing care involves specialized skills and application of knowledge in helping individuals and groups to determine and achieve their physical¸ mental¸ social potential.
