DESCRIPTION :

Bagalkot area is blessed with abundant potentialities for growth in the field of education. Industrial¸ commercial and economic activities also are on rise in this area. The need for law education has bee fulfilled by B.V.V.Sangha in the year 1986 by establishing Basaveshwar Law College which is now renamed as S.C.Nandimath Law College. Dr.S.C.Nandimath was founder principal of Basaveshwar College in the year 1944. He was a great scholar¸ philosopher and educationist. 

The college has completed two decades with the achievements of progress and standard of excellence in imparting legal education. This college has commenced its activities with the strength of around 100 students. Now this college has flourished in the course of time into a reputed institution imparting Legal Education to a number of students studying in LL.M. (Business Trade Law) ¸ LL.B. 3 year and B.A.¸LL.B. (Five year) courses. 

Many alumni of this institution have been rendering valuable services at different places as Judges¸ Advocates¸ Politicians etc. The college has got permanent affiliation from Karnataka State Law University¸ Hubli and the college is included under section 2(F) & and 12 (B) of the U.G.C. Act.
