SLN college was started by SLN charities in the year 1966.It is the oldest college next to R C college and St.Joseph college of commerce producing thousands of Commerce and Arts Graduates¸ since its inception.
 
The managing committee of SLN charities will be re-constituted once in every four years by the Govt of Karnataka. The college is permanently affiliated by the¸ Bangalore University. The college is included in the list of colleges maintained under section 2(f) of the UGC Act. 1956¸the college is recognised by the UGC Act-1956. Our College accomodates the highest number of SC/ST students every year.The college has the most experienced teaching staff and produced good results over the years. Even in sports and literary competitions our students have secured Univercity¸ state and national awards.
