DESCRIPTION :

The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR)¸ has been constituted as a non profit organization with the express objective of engaging in activities for the promotion of education¸ training¸ research¸ professionalism and skill formation at all levels of the construction and other allied industries. Besides that¸ NICMAR?s objectives include undertaking special projects¸ collaboration with other organizations¸ dissemination of knowledge through seminars / conferences¸ etc; publishing literature¸ undertaking consultancy and taking necessary actions conducive to fulfillment of the objectives of the Society. Under the Bombay Public Trust Act¸ 1950¸ NICMAR was registered as a Public Trust in 1982. The NICMAR Society was constituted in 1984 and registered under the Societies? Registration Act¸ 1860.

The Board of Trustees¸ the Board of Governors and the Director General¸ referred in the Memorandum of Association as the ?Chief Executive? of the Society¸ are responsible for all the decisions and actions related to NICMAR. At the Institute level¸ there is an Academic Council chaired by Director General which is responsible for all academic decisions. There is also Research Advisory Board and an Academic Advisory Council to provide advisory support in areas referred to these bodies. There is a well developed internal organizational structure with well defined roles and responsibilities for regular administration and management of the Institute.
