The rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-medium to create an illusion of movement is Animation. Behind the illusion is the phenomenon of persistence of vision which can be demonstrated in myriad ways with the most common being motion picture or video program. 2D¸ 3D Animation being based on twelve basic principles was first propounded by Disney animators from the 30s and it was Johnston and Frank Thomas?s work¸ The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation in 1981 that brought this before the world. The main purpose of these principles was to produce an illusion adhering to the basic laws of physics while at the same time also dealing with abstract issues¸ such as emotional timing and character appeal.
