Jawaharlal Darda Institute of Engineering & Technology was established in 1996 with the motto of providing qualitative technical education in the highly potential Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.Under the able and dynamic leadership of Shri Vijay Darda¸ Chairman¸ Lokmat Media Pvt. Ltd¸ & M.P. Rajya Sabha (1998-2016)¸ the institute is marching towards fulfilment of the dreams of our beloved 'Babuji'¸ Late Shri Jawaharlal Darda. The institute has a spacious building of 2.95 lakhs square feet spread over 17.3 acres of green plateau surrounded by tiny hillocks¸ trees¸ valleys & lake on the way to Amravati from Yavatmal. JDIET is an unaided engineering institute and affiliated to the Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University¸ Amravati and follows the course curriculum as prescribed by it.

The institute is recognised by All India Council For Technical Education¸ New Delhi & is governed by the rules and regulations of AICTE and Directorate of Technical Education¸ Government of Maharashtra. All eligible courses were accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and the Maharashtra Government has recognized the institute as 'A' grade.
