DESCRIPTION :

The Panchasheel Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital¸ Khamgaon is one of the pioneering institution in the field of Homoeopathic education in India¸ established in the year 1959. It is governed by the Panchasheel Homoeopathic Shikshan Prasarak Mandal¸ a registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 by eminent social workers and freedom fighter in 1959. The founder principal Dr. R. G. Kavishwar alias Babasaheb Kavishwar was felicitated by the then his excellency Honorable Shri Krishnakant Vice-President of India on the eve of Silver Jubilee function of central council of Homoeopathy¸ New Delhi in December 1998 for his tireless efforts for propagation of homoeopathy and his contribution in homoeopathic education.

The College was established with view to cater the needs of aling masses in rural and urban area in Buldhana Dist. through Homoeopathic and Bio-Chemic system of medicines from 1959 when there was dearth of medical practitioners and also lack of transportation. The college was recognized under the provisions of the Homoeopathic and Bio-Chemic Practitioners Act1959¸ was affiliated to the Court of Examiners of Homoeopathic and Bio-Chemic systems of Medicine¸ Mumbai for conducting the Diploma course in Homoeopathic and Bio-Chemic systems of Medicine of Two years and Three Years Duration. Since 1973 The college has switched over to the Diploma Course in Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery of Four Years duration. In the year 1983 the Central Council of Homoeopathy New Delhi¸ has framed the regulations to start uniform courses of Homoeopathy education throughout India. viz. D.H.M.S.¸ B.H.M.S. and Graded B.H.M.S. The college has stated Four Years D.H.M.S. Course including Six months of Internship by the Central Council of Homoeopathy¸ New Delhi from the session 1983-84. The Govt. of Maharashtra was pleased to grant permission to this institute to conduct BHMS Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery¸ a degree course of Five and Half Years Duration Including One Year Internship. And was affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University¸ Amravati and since 1998 is affiliated Maharashtra University of Health Sciences¸ Nashik.
