District Institute of Education and Training Esteblished in 1939 and affiilated to Government of Maharashtra. Institute Approved by NCERT and offers Diploma course in Education.
District Institute of Education and Training (D.I.E.T.) is State Government run Institution that works on finer co-ordination of Diploma in Education Colleges (D.T.Ed.) offering Teaching courses to Elementary and Primary Education with NGOs¸ Institutions of higher education¸ secondary teacher education institutions on divisional level along with SCERT and NCERT on State and National levels.

DIET offers:
Training and orientation of the following groups:
Elementary School Teachers (both pre-Service and in-service education)
Header MAsters¸ Heads of School Complexes and Officers of Education Department upto Block level
Instructors and supervisors of Non-formal and continuing education (induction level and continuing education)
Members of DBE and Village Education Committees¸ community leaders¸ youth and other volunteers who wish to work as educational activists.
Resource person who will conduct suitable programmes for the target group mentioned above at centres other than D.I.E.T.
Academic and Resource support to the elementary and continuing education ssytems in the district
Action research and experimentation to deal with specific problems of the district in achieving the objectives in the areas of elementary and continuing education.
