DESCRIPTION :

 Formation of Janata Shikshan Mandal took place in July 1959 with the objective of imparting higher education to local youth from Raigad (then Kulaba) district. In June 1961¸ the college started under the leadership of the then Speaker of Mumbai Region Assembly Shri. Nanasaheb Kunte¸ for classes of F.Y. Arts¸ Science¸ and Commerce in the beginning. In January 1987¸ Loknete Adv. Datta Patil (Dada)¸ the MLA of Alibag Taluka and the Former Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra State Assembly was elected as the chairman of Janata Shikshan Mandal. Under his able guidance a perspective plan of development of this college was executed. He was also instrumental in establishing ?Adv Datta Patil Law College? in the J.S.M. campus in June 2000.
