DESCRIPTION :

IPH&H  is one of the leading  autonomous  teaching institutions in the Country today¸ with offering almost all the Allied Health ?under? and ?post graduate? Certificates¸ Diplomas and Degrees taught in the various parts of the world. During the 35-year span that follows (1976-2010)¸ the Institute added  Departments of Pharmacy¸ Optometry¸ Allied Health¸ Medical Sciences¸ and Dental Medicine.  Years from now¸ historians will look back and discover that the future of IPH&H officially began when (Lt.) Dr. Shyam Sunder Joshi¸ in July 1976¸following his pioneering ideals¸ envisioned  and created an Institution  that was inclusive-that opened its doors to the world-and engaged in service to and collaboration with the Country. From the day of its opening¸  IPH&H  has admitted students of both sexes and every race and religion. It is with great pride¸ that we count many students from all parts of the World among our alumni in the heart of the city¸  in the service of the Country.

The Institute's founder was also ahead of his time in engaging the Institute in direct services to the community viz. Community Health-Care Services¸ Free Rural Mobile Health Services¸ Free Rural Community Public School (Primary Education)¸ Immunization Programmes and Services & Rehabilitation to Disabled¸ HIV/AIDS Awareness Programmes¸ long before such services became popular. As we have evolved and diversified¸ that notion of services has expanded to include the world. The magnitude of the Institute's engagement-which spans public education¸ health care¸ and the arts-is unparalleled in Indian  higher education.

More than any other institution in our society¸ this modern Institute exists to serve the future. The Institute does this by educating individuals for fulfilling productive lives and by creating solutions for present  or anticipated problems through active participation in educational activities.
