MAII is an initiative of K.K. Modi Group¸ a US ¸ 2.8 billion group that has been in existence since 2002.

A pioneer in bringing International education to India¸ MAII brought in Western International University (WIU)¸ USA degree program in 2001. In October 2009 MAII entered into a Joint venture with Stratford University¸ Virginia¸ USA¸ to offer their Undergraduate and Graduate programs in India. Stratford University is accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting agency the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) to award Associate¸ Bachelor¸ and Master's degrees. The Courses offered are also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
