College of Architecture Trivandrum ? promoted by Narayanan & Vaidyanathan Charitable and Educational Trust ? Trivandrum is located at Thinavila¸ Mulayara-P.O.¸ Trivandrum-695 543 and is presumably 15 Kms. away from Trivandrum. C.A.T is essentially the brain child of Architect N. Mahesh who is the Managing Trustee of the Trust and Chairman of the College .

The Mission of the College of Architecture Trivandrum is to train students to be the future lead professionals in the field of Architecture¸ Planning and Design.

This necessitates an interconnected curriculum and pedagogy. In the school¸ three subject areas namely art¸ technology and studies in humanities for design are included to give a comprehensive understanding to the learners. George Santayana¸ the Spanish philosopher mused ?the great difficulty in education is to get experience out of ideas?.
Gaining the required experience for becoming a professional¸ the CAT envisages intense design studios¸ collaboration with related professionals ? users and exposure to real life processes as part of architectural education.
Importance to independent learning is ingrained into the education. This is to train the young minds to prepare for life long learning and critical thinking leading to research based practice.
