A.K.G Memorial Co-Operative College Of Nursing was established and envisioned in August 2007¸ by A.K.G Memorial Co-operative Hospital¸ a unit of Kannur Co-operative Hospital Society Ltd.No.C 834 with an aim to mould a new generation with the skill¸ knowledge and attitude in providing comprehensive nursing care to the sick and the disabled and to bring about new innovations in the field of Nursing through scientific education and research.

A.K.G Memorial Co-Operative College Of Nursing (AKGMCCON) ? a memorial of Sri. A.K. Gopalan¸ is a novel step in the scenario of nursing education of North Kerala. Sri. A.K.Gopalan was a renowned politician¸ a fabulous orator and a great parliamentarian hailing from Kannur district¸ who toiled through out his life for the upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. AKGMCCON is functioning in its new building from 2010 December onwards¸ at Mavilayi- the native place of Sri. AKG¸ more over a salubrious hilly area 10km west ¸ away from the buzz and pollution of Kannur City.
