The Shadan Degree College for Women was granted permission by the Government of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O Rc. No.1640 dated 17/11/1988 and the Osmania University in the year 1988 and vide its letter No.547/A/1251/88/Acad¸ dated 24/11/1988. It is a minority Institution with a minority status certificate No. 077/1721/M&R/A2/99(M) dated 23/7/99.

Dr. Asfia Parveen has excelled herself as a good lecturer at UG and PG level for the past 24 years before she became the Principal. Her academic excellence includes 1st Rank in M.Sc Osmania University Exam. She was awarded Doctorate Degree for her research titled Some Histological and Biochemical Variations associated with pesticide treatment in a fish Clarias batrachus in the year 1990.
