Dr. Jiba Kanta Saikia Homoeopathic Medical college and hospital of Assam ¸a leading and pioneer Govt. institute of homoeopathic education and health care system in the North-Eastern region of India was established in the year 1975. The institute is the first Homoeopathic institute of Assam undertaken by Govt. of Assam ¸ first institute to run the B.H.M.S. course in North East region as well as the first Govt. aided regional institute of North East India.

Serving for last 42 years ¸ presently the institute has been running successfully the undergraduate level of Homoeopathy i.e Bachelor in Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery (B.H.M.S.) since 1996. Initially B.H.M.S. course was affiliated by Dibrugarh University and currently it was shifted to Srimanta Sankadeva University of Health Science ¸ Guwahti. Keeping in view the utmost necessity of the BHMS degree holders of Assam as well as of North east region of India¸ for doing higher study and research works in Homoeopathy¸ the present aim and objective of Dr.J.K.Saikia Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital is to introduce the Post-Graduate course i.e M.D.( Doctor of Medicine In Homoeopathy) in various specialized subjects recognized by ministry of AYUSH¸ Govt of India¸ step by step with the full support of concerned Government.
