Due to the scarcity of architecture colleges in the northeast region¸ budding architects had to travel far and wide to fulfill their dream¸ taking note of which Ar. Abani Das¸ the Managing Trustee of Dona Foundation¸ started an Architecture College in Guwahati¸ Assam ¸ as a Dona Foundation initiative. Guwahati College of Architecture is dedicated to the states of North East India and especially to the students of Assam.
